Είναι επίσης Αντιπρόεδρος της Συντονιστικής Επιτροπής Οικονομικών Αναλύσεων και Προοπτικών του Τραπεζικού Κλάδου της Ένωσης Ελληνικών Τραπεζών (ΕΕΤ) και μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Ιδρύματος Οικονομικών και Βιομηχανικών Ερευνών (ΙΟΒΕ) και μέλος της Εξωτερικής Συμβουλευτικής Επιτροπής του Προγράμματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών «Ποσοτική Διαχείριση Αναλογιστικού και Χρηματοπιστωτικού Κινδύνου» στο Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Τέλος είναι μέλος των επενδυτικών επιτροπών του ΤΕΑ ΠΕΙΡΑΙΩΣ, ΤΕΑ ΔΑΑ, ΤΕΑ INTRUM και της ΔΥΝΑΜΙΣ ΑΣΦΑΛΙΣΤΙΚΗ.
O κ. Λεκκός ξεκίνησε την επαγγελματική του σταδιοδρομία στην Τράπεζα της Αγγλίας το 1998, αρχικά στο τμήμα Ανάλυσης Χρηματαγορών και Κεφαλαιαγορών, στη συνέχεια στη Μονάδα Διαχείρισης Διαθεσίμων και τέλος στην Διεύθυνση Εποπτείας του Τραπεζικού συστήματος. Στη συνέχεια ο κ. Λεκκός μετακινήθηκε διαδοχικά στην HBOS Treasury Services και στο τμήμα Δομημένων Ομολόγων στην Standard & Poor’s. Στα τέλη του 2005 επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα και ως τον Μάιο του 2007 εργάστηκε στην Eurobank-EFG.
Έχει σπουδάσει οικονομικά στο Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και έχει master από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Warwick και διδακτορικό από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Lancaster.

Dr. Ilias Lekkos is Chief Economist, Head of Economic Analysis and Investment Strategy of Piraeus Bank Group.
He is also Vice Chairman of the Coordinating Committee on Economic Analysis and Prospects of the Banking Sector of the Hellenic Bank Association (HBA), member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) and member of the External Advisory Committee of the Postgraduate Program “Quantitative Actuarial and Financial Risk Management” at the Athens University of Economics and Business.  Finally, he is a member of the investment committees of TEA PIRAEUS, TEAA AIA, TEA INTRUM and DYNAMIS ASFALISTIKI.
Dr. Lekkos started his professional career at the Bank of England in 1998, initially in the Monetary Instruments & Markets Division, then in the Financial Institutions Regulation Division. Dr. Lekkos then moved successively to HBOS Treasury Services and to the Structured Finance Department at Standard & Poor’s. At the end of 2005 he returned to Greece and until May 2007 he worked at Eurobank-EFG. He has studied economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business and holds a master’s degree from the University of Warwick and a PhD from the University of Lancaster.
